Chris Norwell-Fischer has worked for Sandusky City Schools for over 30 years.  She has served as a first-grade teacher, Title 1 reading, a third-grade teacher and fifth grade teacher and has had multiple instructional coaching roles.  For the past 11 years, she's served as the district reading coach and has a variety of educational leadership experiences.

Mrs.Norwell-Fischer earned a four-year degree in elementary education from Bowling Green State University and a master of education degree in reading from Ashland University.

She has also had a major role in creating the district's current academic strategic plan and has worked closely on the Ohio Improvement Process. She has led multiple curriculum adoptions in various subjects during her time with Sandusky City Schools.  Mrs. Norwell-Fischer is an involved leader who values the input and energy of our staff members, students, families, and community members as we reach our goals and continuously improve.  

Mrs. Norwell-Fischer and her husband, Shayne have three sons.

A school district’s curriculum director works with educators to directly impact instruction, student learning strategies, create an academic strategic plan, facilitate professional development sessions, and consult with academic leaders across Ohio to support education standards.   Mrs. Norwell-Fischer and the Curriculum Leadership Team will work to make sure Sandusky City Schools achieve the educational goals of increasing student achievement, increasing student attendance, and decreasing student behavior incidents.  The Curriculum Leadership Team consists of reading, math, science, and technology coaches, along with Title Content Area Specialists.
